Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 28, 2026
SnapMark ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in relation to the SnapMark Chrome Extension.
1. Information Collection
SnapMark is a privacy-first tool. We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII), health data, financial information, or authentication credentials.
- Local Captures: When you take a screenshot, the image is processed and stored locally on your device. We do not have access to these files.
- Website Content: To fulfill its core purpose, SnapMark captures visual data of the websites you choose to screenshot. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly share it.
- User Activity: We track mouse position only during the active selection of a capture area. This data is transient and never saved.
2. Data Usage & Sharing
If you choose to use the "Share" feature, your annotated screenshot is uploaded to a cloud storage provider (Supabase). This action is initiated exclusively by you.
- We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or creditworthiness determination.
3. Permissions Justification
SnapMark requests the following permissions for specific, narrow purposes:
- activeTab: To capture the visual content of the page you are viewing.
- storage: To save your local history of recent captures and preferences.
- scripting: To provide the interactive selection overlay on web pages.
- tabs: To open the annotation editor in a new tab.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We recommend checking this page periodically for any changes.
